Carlos Quentin broke an eighth-inning tie with his first career grand slam, leading the Chicago White Sox over Los Angeles 6-1 Wednesday night in John Lackey’s return to the Angels’ rotation. Sidelined since March 21 because of a strained triceps, Lackey allowed one run and six hits in seven innings.

Weaver and Angels shutdown White Sox (AP)
Jered Weaver and two relievers combined to pitch a three-hitter and Mike Napoli hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the eighth, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 2-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. A.J. Pierzynski’s leadoff single in the fifth was the only hit off Weaver, who pitched seven innings.

Guerrero’s HR and 4 RBIs lead Angels over Chisox 10-7 (AP)
Vladimir Guerrero homered and drove in four runs, Nick Adenhart recorded his first major league victory and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Chicago White Sox 10-7 on Monday night to snap a four-game losing streak. Adenhart (1-0) allowed four runs and nine hits in 5 2-3 innings, walking three and striking out one.

Rich Gossage not so tough anymore (AP)
Rich Gossage isn’t so tough anymore. The grit the Goose personified on the mound as a fearsome relief pitcher in a 21-year major league career was long gone Monday as he toured baseball’s Hall of Fame and pondered his impending induction on July 27. “It’s more mind-boggling than I ever imagined,” Gossage said.
