Thome leaves after fouling off pitch (AP)
White Sox slugger Jim Thome left Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels after fouling off a pitch in the first inning. Thome had missed Chicago’s previous two games with mild irritation of his right rib cage. Thome leads the White Sox with five home runs, a .340 batting average and 25 walks.
