Angels 12, White Sox 2 (AP)

Dustin Moseley, hoping to earn one of two vacant spots in the Los Angeles Angels’ rotation, struck out six in six innings Tuesday during a 12-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Moseley allowed two runs and right hits — he has given up five runs in 19 2-3 innings during spring training. “He gives [...]

    Benitez going nowhere (Yahoo! Sports)

You can finally scratch those trade rumors about Armando Benitez going to the Florida Marlins.

AL team reports: Looking to opening day (SportingNews.com)

Each week Sporting News provides exclusive insight on every major league team. Here’s a sample of the latest American League team reports.

Giants 3, White Sox 2 (AP)

Matt Cain went six innings, catcher Bengie Molina worked nine and closer Armando Benitez got an impressive four-out save. For the San Francisco Giants, Monday’s 3-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox was about as close to a real game as they’ve played all spring. They ended a six-game skid, too — the club’s longest [...]

Rangers 10, White Sox 2 (AP)

Mark Buehrle’s final spring training start in Arizona was a little rough. What really concerned the White Sox on Sunday were two injuries during a 10-2 loss to the Texas Rangers, who rapped out 21 hits. Chicago shortstop Juan Uribe fell down chasing a popup in the fourth and had to leave the game an [...]

Griffey, Big Unit back on the field; Wang out at least a month (AP)

Ken Griffey Jr. and Randy Johnson are beginning to get healthy. The New York Yankees, however, will be without their top starting pitcher for at least a month. Chien-Ming Wang will begin the season on the disabled list with a right hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined until late April. That means [...]

Diamondbacks (ss) 5, White Sox 4 (AP)

Doug Davis had his best outing of a shaky spring, helping a split squad of Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago White Sox 5-4 on Saturday. The left-hander allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked one. “I gave up some hits, but you know, I’m not going to [...]

Jenks tries to regain form in final week of spring (AP)

The pitchers were more important than the score. Bobby Jenks, the Chicago White Sox’ burly closer, seemed to straighten out some of his problems Saturday, allowing one hit on 25 pitches over the first three innings of a “B” game against the Arizona Diamondbacks that involved numerous minor leaguers. The guy opposing him looked pretty [...]

Danks gets nod as White Sox’s 5th starter (AP)

White Sox rookie John Danks got a pleasant surprise Saturday when he was summoned into manager Ozzie Guillen’s office. He got word he’d won the job as Chicago’s fifth starter. “I thought I was going to the other side,” Danks said. “It’s usually not good when you get called in, but I’m excited about it.

Rockies 5, White Sox 3 (AP)

Troy Tulowitzki has won the starting shortstop job with the Colorado Rockies. The 22-year old, drafted seventh overall in the first round in the 2005 draft, was declared the starter after Colorado’s 5-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Friday in a game called after the bottom of the seventh due to rain.
